Gettysburg was the largest land battle ever fought in the western hemisphere!. It was fought between the Union and the Confederacy during the Civil War!. Many, many men died in that battle, and a portion of the battlefield was turned into a cemetery to bury the dead soldiers!. Lincoln wrote the address to give at the commemoration ceremony officially dedicating the cemetery!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
