Blackout curtains were used so that planes flying over, during the night would not be able to get a fix on where any villages, towns or cities were!. They were using the light to judge how high they were flying, how much population they could get, where they were!. Remember, this was before all the high tec stuff that we have now!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
