Question: Why did they change BC to BCE!?
And i beleive they changed AD too!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

BC is "Before Christ" and BCE is "Before Common Era"!. Whoever changed it wanted to be politically correct and not include the word "Christ"!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

"BC" stands for "before Christ!." "AD" stands for "anno domini," a Latin phrase meaning "in the year of our lord!." Since many people in the world are not Christians, but still use the common dating system based on the Christian calendar, some people feel that it is more sensitive and inclusive to use the terms "BCE" and "CE," which stand for "before the common era" and "common era!."Www@QuestionHome@Com

They changed "BC" (before Christ) and "AD" (Anno Domine - year of the Lord) to BCE and CE to reflect the fact that most of the world is not Christian, and it's insulting to make the non-Christian majority, who may have never heard of the carpenter, honor the epoch that Christians use!. I think that the day may come when the world's calenders won't even be based on Christianity at all! Www@QuestionHome@Com

BC was a Christan term meaning Before Christ!.

BCE, Before Christian Era, is a more secular term referring to the time of Christ without implying that Christ was real!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
