Artist Leonardo da Vinci lived in Renaissance-era Europe!. Although the book is theologically incorrect, it does have a great deal of European art history in it!.

Google Early Modern Europe for more info!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It's not history at all, it was a completely fictional story!. The Knights Templar were not the fore bearers of the Freemasons, DaVinci did not encode anything into his paintings, there has never been any vast cover up by the church about Jesus and his supposed "bloodline"!. I'm not saying people can't find the story entertaining but don't think that it's historically accurate, it's like Star Wars or Harry Potter, just look at it as pure entertainment with no historic content!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

yes it was very interesting! I loved the book and learned a lot from it!.
I guess it tells the reader a lot about church history, especially about Jesus and his family and "bloodline"!. A lot about ancient secret circles as well, which bases on a real background!.
In my view, the fascinating thing is that Dan Brown mixes real facts with fiction and fictional characters!. And I think that the factual part is much bigger than most people would believe!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

certainly, it's not a part of world history!. it's a fiction!. many historians, professors and experts from well respected universities like princeton have claimed and proven that the artifacts in which dan brown based his novel were considered vain and unreliable (sorry!. i don't know the proper term)!.
