2!. Grows primarily in the Midwest, NOT in the South!. Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, and Michigan are strong holds of the Klan!.
3!. Reaches a mid-1920s membership of nearly 4 million!.
4!. A few congressmen, members of the Klan, are elected to Congress!.
5!. Several hundred Klansmen march on Washington in mid-1920s drawing national attention!.
6!. Many members of the Klan join unaware of the real intentions of the Klan, they believe it to be a mere social organization and NOT a racist, gang!.
