These may very well be ancillary benefits to warfare, but I won't agree
to the premise that warfare "progresses" humanity!.

I can assert that warfare has probably definitively settled more issues
in human history than any other force, but that doesn't mean one has
to assign to war a positive value!.

War also breeds all sorts of divisive attitudes to others, nursed resentments that echo down the generations!. You also can't discount

War breaks things and kills people!. Wars makes fathers bury sons, young women widows, and children fatherless!.

Sometimes because of war, or in prepreation for war governments have funded human ingenuity, but we actually have alot less war now adays, and alot more innovations!.!.!.so other things must be at work!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

they only way humanity can progress is learning its history, what use is there to a war that has been fought before!? Www@QuestionHome@Com
