Question: How were medical advancements sped up/down by World War 2!?
Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
There were so many and such a wide variety of injuries and deaths to a lesser extent, that tested medical knowledge at the time!.

Certain things were found to be useful in medical treatment!. One example that comes to mind would be an aviator getting some plastic airplane canopy in his eye!. It was found the plastic did not cause infections and eventually led to contact lenses!.

I hate to say it but I am sure some medical discoveries were made by trial and error in an attempt to save life and limb!. Much was learned about amputations, blindness, etc!. So, if anything could be said to be positive about a war, it was the rapid increase in medical knowledge in first aid , and new ways of treating injuries!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
