If you have a Bible, read the book of Joshua and you will be amazed at the battles that he fought!. He was led by God to take the land and Joshua's armies killed thousands and thousands of people and rarely lost a single soldier!.

The book of Joshua is a quick read and very interesting!. You will want to keep on reading it once you start!. Joshua was the successor of Moses and led the Israelites into the Promised Land!. They went from one city to the next completely destroying the kings and armies and completely took over the land!. Very interesting reading!.

You should not feel any regret at being in the military and doing what you have to do in order to protect our country and your men!. God bless you for doing your job!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

It doesn't say anything really!.

The bible doesn't condemn soldiering (some will say otherwise), but it doesn't encourage it either!. OT passages have no bearing, partly because christians are called to live the spirit of the law, and not it's letter!. It is not enough to not murder, you must not hate, it is not enough to not fornicate, you must not lust, etc!. They also don't matter because many of them are directions from God, where he is using the hebrews as tools of his wrath on the various 'ites'!. Christians are called to be witnesses to the gospel!.

Personally, I don't think that a Christian should become or remain a soldier!. Soldiers take an oath to defend thier country against all enemies, foreign or domestic!. This could put him in the position of killing another christian, and that cannot be right in God's eyes!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You must realize that the Bible sees a difference between murder and killing in war!. "Thou shalt not kill" is a corruption and should read "Thou shall not murder"!. The Bible is very clear on many things when the correct translations of the Hebrew is correct!. I don't mean to sound like a Bible Thumber but a correct translation means alot when trying to understand anything!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The Old Testament positively encourages it, smiting people hither and yon!. The New Testament is a little more circumspect, what with all that turning the other cheek and loving one's enemies and stuff!. Have you ever wondered why an omniscient, omnipotent being would need to change its mind!? But I digress!.

Fortunately St Augustine of Hippo came up with the idea of a just war in the 5th century, so it is perfectly OK to go and kill folks!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

All in favor of it!.
The jews killed enormous numbers of people to get their land and their sky god approved of it!.
Remember Jericho where all the men, women and children were massacred!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

First and third answers are dead on (no pun intended)!. The Bible also says that there is no greater love than to lay one's life down for his brother (I'm sorry I don't remember the passage)!.!.
