i think he would have thought that he was mad and not fit to be a ruler, but i also think he would respect the fact that hitler had been able to inspire his people and take control of a large area in a short space of time!. Machiavelli understood the importance of control over the people and would probably have respected the fact that hitler had been able to do that!. But machiavelli came from a different period in history when it was more acceptable to kill people off you didnt like so it's hard to paass judgementWww@QuestionHome@Com

He would have thought he was an idiot, or insane or on his way there!. My strong guess is that a person like Machiavelli would have had nothing but contempt for someone like Hitler, whom he would have considered--accurately--one well below his station, even if he were sane!.

Madman Hitler's approach was with a hatchet, and an inconsistently dull one at that!. Machiavelli's preferred tool would be a scalpel!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
