There's no reason to think that they were made up!.!.!. nothing in the stories of their lives and work would lead a person to think that it couldn't or wouldn't have happened that way!.

They both were historical figures!.

We have many of Plato's writings and he was the teacher of Aristotle!.

The evidence for Socrates is a little more shaky, because as far as
we know he never wrote anything, but simply appeared in Plato's
dialogues!. But Socrates is mentioned by other historical figures,
one being the Greek aristocrat Alcibiades!. Socrates was also parodied
