No, don't be silly!. And it wasn't 'changes' in colonial policy; all through the years leading up to the actual war, Parliament and ministers made clear that they were enforcing existing policy!. Ben Franklin called them out on this a couple times, that one thing or another wasn't what colonists had understood to be the law or procedure, and he was told 'Well it's their fault if they don't understand what the law is!." Or words to that effect!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The revolution was named after the country that was founded from the revolution!. So no, it should not be called the British Revolution!. But sometimes it can be referred to as the colonial revolution depends on the conversation and who you are speaking to, there have been colonial revolutions from other countries as well!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

If you really want to be technical about it the American Revolution wasn't a revolution at all!. It was actually a rebellion!. In order for it to be a revolution the colonists would've had to overthrow King George!.

As far as calling it the British Revolution, I don't think that's accurate at all!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

No, because the name refers to the breaking away of the 13 colonies which became the first states of the US from Britian!. Calling it the British Revolution would mean Britian fought for it's freedom from someone else!. Www@QuestionHome@Com
