Fierce soldiers, unwilling to back down, from the constant strife in the English-Scottish border region from which they mostly came, and in northern Ireland!. Strongly Protestant!. Disrespectful of any authority except those who prove themselves!. Independent!. Andrew Jackson's parents were Scots-Irish!. In the US they mostly lived in the Appalachians, where they were an effective barrier between the quasi-royal English along the settled civilized coast and the Indians!.

I'm 50, have some Scots-Irish heritage, proud hillbilly!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
