But also, so that we can understand what is going on today!. If we didn't research and study history we would fail to understand many of the issues going on in the world today!. A complicated example of that is studying the history of "The Holy Land!." If we only looked at it right now and tried to understand the motivations of the region we would be lost!. If we went back to post WWII, we might understand some of it!. But in truth you have to go back thousands of years to begin to grasp what is going on there!. People have been fighting over that stretch of land for over 2000 years!. Whether you are Agnostic, Aethisest or anyone with a formal religion it is important to know the history there to understand what is going on today!. Without understanding there is no hope of peace!. also, history is important for showing us different forms of government and how they succeeded and how they failed!. We HAVE to know what mistakes to avoid repeating!. Its almost like a horrible lab experiment!. This works with that, this self destructs, this leads to explosions!.!.!.!.
