The concept of sewers for waste removal was devised by them, reducing disease!. Concrete was invented in 260 BC, but restricted in use because the Senate believed it was unstable compared to marble!. Aqueduct systems were created for plumbing purposes and paved roads for transporting goods easily!. All of these inventions are used in the 21st century, benefiting us greatly!. The roman environment was rich, with an equal spread of political, economic and military strength, whereas Greece had inconsistencies!. Rome's empire kept strong for approximately 500-600 years, before its decline!. The Senate was an improved version of the Greek's basic idea!. In ancient times, most civilizations, including Greece believed in Pagan Gods, but Rome altered this!. Roman expansion imposed their customs, attitudes, beliefs, religion and values upon the conquered!. Emperor Constantine the I of Rome ended the persecution of christians, segregating Rome into two halves around 330 AD!. The next ruler, Theodosius the I, finally sets Christianity as the official religion of Rome in 391 AD, baning Paganism!. This had massive influence on the era which was to follow, the Middle Ages!. Rome's decisions and actions controlled the future and the events that took place, to a certain extent!. Today this still happens - dominant religious ideologies are Christianity and Islam!.
