i am doing a power point on american history!. one slide needs to be about the declaration of independence and i need to use the word treason!. In which ways was the goverment overthrown!? please help!

The 13 colonies, assembled in Congress, voted to separate themselves from the government of England!. In this way, they separated themselves from the laws of the mother country, and also from the enforcement of those laws by the King or his agents, in this case the Army and Navy!.

They also had adopted an army which had been besieging Boston at the time (the previous summer) as the army of the United States!. From that time, any military action taken by that army against the forces of his majesty, constituted armed rebellion against the crown!. Prior to this, actions taken by this military force were on behalf of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts!.
