I suspect that the point of the assignment is for you to DECIDE what happened to Abigail!. Is it for English class!? You might have to do a little creative writing for this one!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

There were several girls named Abigail involved- Williams, Hobbs, Faulkner;

Faulkner was convicted but not executed

Williams- a quote from Wiki, "Although there is no definite evidence of what happened to Williams after the trials ended, one reference stated she "apparently died before the end of 1697, if not sooner, no older than seventeen!.!.!.!."The legend has it that Abigail turned up later as a prostitute in Boston!." However, given the use of the word "legend," it is presumed the accusation is most likely false!. The last claim states Abigail died from a common Sexually transmitted disease in colonial Massachusetts during that time period!.

Hobbs- "Hobbs was granted a reprieve by Governor William Phips in January 1693 after Chief Magistrate William Stoughton had signed the warrant for her execution!. Abigail Hobbs was among those named in the Act for Reversal of Attainder by the Massachusetts Great and General Court, October 17, 1711!."Www@QuestionHome@Com

Even though Abigail played a major role as an accuser at the beginning of the trials, especially in March, April, and May, she gave her last testimony on June 3rd 1692!. There is no historical documentation suggesting why Abigail virtually disappeared from the court hearings!. In addition, there are no records indicating what happened to Abigail after the events of 1692!. It is suggested that she never married and died a single woman, but without any evidence we will never be quite certain

Salem said that after she said that she made all the witches up!. She was exiled, so she went to boston!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

We have no idea - in the "crucible" which was based on it, but not actually factual, she ran away and became a prostitute!. It seems there is no proof of what actually happened to Abigail Williams!. Different websites have different theories!.

Your teacher probably knows that there isn't any info, so you'll have to write in your essay what you think someone like her would do, or what would happen to someone like her, if they kept up the kind of behavior that she demonstrated in the book!. If she made the accusations to get attention, she would continue to do stuff to get attention, like maybe theater!. If she made the accusations to feel powerful, she would look to be a powerful figure later in life, maybe by marrying someone powerful back then like a judge!. If she made the accusations because of religious belief, maybe she would go further into religion, like becoming a nun!. You decide!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The accepted theory is that Abigail ran off to become a prostitute!.!.!. however many other theories abound, some more romantic than others!.

Considering she was the antagonist of the play (which is not truly accurate to the real story) then trusting what really happened is hard to determine as people warp reality into what they want!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

If you are talking about the girl who was head leader in the accusations she lost most of her family and later eventually became a christian!. She also wrote an apology letter for her role she played in the witch trials!. I did a research paper on this!. Not to say this theory is correct but it is one of the major theories!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
