Yes, "The Schleswig-Holstein Question was the name given to the whole complex of diplomatic and other issues arising in the 19th century out of the relations of the two duchies, Schleswig and Holstein, to the Danish crown and to the newly emerging German Confederation!."

Was the duchy of Schleswig part of the dominions of the Danish crown, as it had been for centuries or should Schleswig be joined with with Holstein as part of the German Confederation!? Schleswig was considered part of Denmark!. The duchy of Holstein was really more German, although the Danish king was Duke of Holstein!. Therefore should Holstein become part of the new German Confederation!?

At that time Germany was becoming unified as one country, under the leadership of Prussia!. Previously it had been a collection of separate states, each with its own prince or duke as ruler!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
