There are so many amazing things about it that it's hard to pick ONE thing! If you want to look at the revolution itself, I think the most amazing thing is how unprepared the Colonists were, and how few, yet managed to overthrow the British rulers' mighty army! Many other colonies would try this and either fail or spend decades or centuries doing it!

If you want RESULTS of the revolution, to my mind, the U!.S!. Constitution was the most significant thing!. To the best of my knowledge, no other country has anything as comprehensive!. It's a shame how it is being so deeply undermined in the last fifty years and especially lately!

The other great result was a new TYPE of representative government, in which ALL people (eventually; at first it was just white, male property owners) get to VOTE and decide on a government!. In other countries, such as Britain, Parliament was only for the nobles and wealthy!.
