It takes looking in the right place, because it is a theory about the roots of language and development of society in Europe that says they came out of the Indian continent!. Most of the languages of Europe (with things like Basque, Finnish, and Lithuanian (vague memory here)) can be followed back and back with words that now look nothing alike being related because of pronunciation changes centuries ago!. One odd example is Americans pronouncing colonel as "kernal" and British as 'kalon nel"
In any case, Indo-European word roots suggest that the languages we use traveled by conquest and settlement from the Indus river area east and south into the Indian Continent and north and northwest thru western Asia into Europe via Greece and the area now occupied by countries like Hungary!. http://en!.wikipedia!.org/wiki/Indus_Valle!.!.!.
I think think there are two reasons this is not covered much in school histories (at least in my time of the 50's & 60's), in that these peoples were the true Aryans that Hitler so distorted in WWII and the strong prejudice (which still exists) that Europeans are the carriers of civilization from the Greeks and Romans via Christianity so exploring where they got their civilization from would take students into Mesopotamia and Asiatic influences and an area now dominated by Islam, even though that sprang up about 600 AD, thousands of years after the Aryan civilization!.
