Queen Victoria kept a detailed diary of her life!. She goes into great details about her love for her Husband and obviously preferred the act of Conception over the trauma of childbirth!.
However, the version we have as historical record is not the actual diary!.
Upon her death, her eldest daughter, also named Victoria, the widowed Empress of Germany, read and rewrote the diary choosing what was acceptable for historians to read about her mother!.
It was a great loss to historians!. The originals apparently burned!.
Even Queen Elizabeth II in one documentary while showing a guest the library at Windsor Castle laments about the destruction of the original text!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Only until she died and then she went out and sold it!.

Seriously, it's a very good question and I intend to research it!. I've heard most Royals - especially those who ascend to the throne - are all but required to keep a diary or journal!.

I made my nephews and nieces keep a journal when they were in elementary school and they've continued it to this day!.

[Sorry for the silly answer!. Just in a silly mood!.]Www@QuestionHome@Com
