The economy is not so good, there is 56 murders per a 1000 population in South Africa!. In sport, their cricket team were smashed by England, and they were not in running for the Bledisoe Cup at all!. Oh, so the most advanced country in Africa!. So, Africa is in bad shape right now, compare South Africa to Europe, Asia, America!. Then say something!. South Africa has natural resources!. OK, bu in post-apartheid, blacks and whites are working together to elicit your statement!. It's whites and blacks!.Www@QuestionHome@Com It's a really difficult question, mainly because it's impossible to imagine what South Africa would have been like had there been no "western" or "white" interference!. There's a likelihood that there would have been ongoing inter-tribal conflict and perhaps it wouldn't be as good as it is now!. Your point about the resources is a good one, gold is of course a valuable asset, but it has to be mined efficiently and exported appropriately!. Would this have happened without the Dutch influence!? You could perhaps compare SA with countries that weren't "ruled" by others, and see what their current position in the world economy is!. Look at where emeralds come from for example!.
