Question: True number of death counts during the Chernobyl disaster!?
I recently played the game S!.T!.A!.L!.K!.E!.R and i looked up chernobyl and i found it very interesting as to what happened there!. So i started reasearching about it for fun and i was looking on wikipedia and it say's there we're only 56 related deaths at the time!? What is that i personally think it was more than that because the amount of radiation that was in that area was incredible, there was 100 times more radiation than hiroshima and nagasaki and the one bomb in hiroshima killed over 200000 people!? Someone explain please!. And i'm not talking about the deaths that happened afterwards, the amount of people that died on the day that it happened, just doesn't seem right to me!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

those bombs were set off in the middle of big cities, so had a lot of instant deaths, chernobyl was an overload not a bomb, and the plant was well outside a smaller city so only deaths from radiation poisoning, the city was evacuated but i would have assumed the number of deaths to be higher than 56, because many people got high radiation doses including the people that put the reactor in concrete, if i remember all the trucks and helicopters were just scrapped after due to contamination and most of the guys working got real highly exposedWww@QuestionHome@Com
