Question: American Revolution > George Washington crossing the Deleware !?
We watched the movie, 'The Crossing' in my history class, and unfortunately I was sick and missed it!.

>I'm looking for some help in writing about the application of >some principles of war by both armies at the Battle of Trenton >(eg the >element of surprise was used by Washington)!.

Are there any other principles of war the I can discuss!?

Thanks for your time & pushing me in the right direction - best answer will be chosen!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

well the colonists principle of war was guerilla warfare that they had learned from the indians!. The battle of trenton was when we crossed deleware and fought mercenaries which were hired soldiers of the british who were not even british but were just being to paid to fight for them!. You can talk about our militia and how it was unreliable at times and also about how the british were very behind on their tactics in war and fought traditional style which did not work against the colonists who fought guerilla warfare!. also the colonists principe in the revolutionary war was to defend defend defend, any time they tried to attack they lost a great number of men!. This is a good tactic because it forced the british to lose a lot more than we didWww@QuestionHome@Com

I agree with the above, but be mindful that it was the Hessians (Germans) who occupied Trenton alongside some of the British who received the most casualties!. Www@QuestionHome@Com
