Captain Cook's goat - there is a story and you are going to have to research it yourself!. It seems that the goat in question had already made an around the Globe voyage before it came into the possession/ownership of Capt' Cook!. The goat seems also to have been stolen at some point and then recovered from the thief!.

There is also a surviving bunch of goats somewhere New Zealand which are believed to be descented from Cook's goat and efforts are being or have been made to save them, as there are now only a few left!.
