There was nothing politically unique about Nazism!. Its views were similar to those of many conservatives of the day, and if you read posts on this website, of people today!.

The German National Socialist Workers [Nazi] Party was formed by Adolf Hitler and some friends in about 1920!. They attempted a coup soon afterwards and ended up in prison!.

In 1933, Hitler and some of his friends (others did not survive internal disagreements), stood for election and he was voted in as Chancellor with a big Nazi majority in parliament!.

So the answer to your question is the German people made the Nazi party by electing them into power!. With hindsight, I'm pretty sure that was an electoral mistake and was regretted by almost everyone within a very short time!. But that's the nature of democracy!. It happens in all democratic political systems but not to quite the same extreme extent!.
