Question: Who was Ann Boleyn's niece!?
Having just watched "Ann of a Thousand Days" again, was wondering what became of the illegitimate daughter of Ann Boleyn's sister who was also Henry VIII's mistress!? Was she later Mary Queen of Scotts or am I confusing my British History totally!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

I'm afraid that 'Anne of a Thousand Days' is just a movie and isn't factually accurate!. Anne's sister Mary was Henry VIII's mistress but modern historians have now come to the conclusion that her daughter (called Catherine) was not illegitimate and was in fact born in wedlock, the daughter of Mary and her husband William Carey!. She actually ended up being a lady-in-waiting to Anne's daughter, Elizabeth I!. More information on Catherine Carey can be found here:

Mary Queen of Scots was the grandaughter of Margaret Tudor, Henry VIII's elder sister, thus making her Henry's great-niece and not someone who was directly related to the Boleyn family in any way other than marriage!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Bastards simply didn't ascend the throne!. Mary Queen of Scots was the daughter of James V of Scotland and she had been Queen Consort of France!. http://en!.wikipedia!.org/wiki/Mary_I_of_S!.!.!.
