It's an interesting what if!? The Carthaginians were as civilized as the Romans in many respects!. Society was actually quite similar!.!.!.and both Romans and Carthaginians had very similar Gods!. So I do not believe that society and culture today would be much different if the Carthagnians prevailed over the Romans!. I suppose Latin would not have been used so widely!.!.!.!.!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Carthage was a Phoenician trading post so they took from the Greeks just like the Romans!. Of course Romans did have their own inventions but it's safe to say that the Greeks inspired them!. So I don't think it would have been much different for Carthage!.

Africa would have been more civilized then Europe since Carthage is in Africa!. The barbarians such as the Huns, Vandals, and Goths might still be a problem but I doubt they would have been able to cross the Meditation Sea and sack the Carthage capital like they did in Roman!. If Carthage didn't advance into Gaul then Carthage would have to defend Spain from them!. The Islamic Invasion of Africa would have been a problem with late Carthage as well as the uprising of Berber tribes and such in Africa!.

If the alliance with Macedon didn't exist then the Greeks would have probably have to be dealt with!. I have not a doubt in my mind that the Greeks would have rose again if given the time and the chance!.

Ptolemy would probably lose Egypt since he had his own problems and really didn't need a power like Carthage coming to his west!. They would probably want Alexandria since it is a wealthy trading post!.

After that it's hard to say what would have happen!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well, if the Roman Empire had never come to power then the world would have never known about indoor plumbing!. (That is if no one else came up with the idea!.) The world as we know it would be pretty GROSS, without their invention!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
