Question: Demonstrate that the WWII was really a WORLD WAR!!?
Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
The number of belligerents is one way!. All countries in Europe were involved (bar Ireland, Switzerland, Holy See, Sweden and Monaco), All countries in Africa were involved, all countries in Asia were involved (bar Afghanistan and Saudi Arabia), all countries in the Americas were involved (barring a couple of the latin american ones) and every country in Oceania was involved!. Even in those countries where they were not directly involved they were effected by trading with their preferred victors!.

Another way is to look where the war was fought (mainly)!. The major theaters of War were Western Europe, Eastern Europe, North Africa, Middle East, Southern Europe, The pacific, Atlantic, Far east Asia, South East Asia and the East indies!. Great Britain and parts of Australia were extensively bombed as well as Hawaii and the Aleutian Islands!. Shipping in every part of the world, but particularly in the North Atlantic (including off the east coast of America), the Mediterranean and the East Indies were sunk on a massive scale!.

Of the places that escaped direct bombing or bloodshed, the war affected their populations massively as they saw many of their own die including civilians!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
