Think about the information you have and try to distill it down in to one sentence!.

Then try to make it as dramatic and punchy as possible!.

Think of your thesis as sort of like a reverse lighthouse beam!. You start really wide and dramatic to catch your reader's attention!. So make a big statement!. Then narrow your focus to your specific topic!.

Be opinionated!. You're writing your paper to defend your opinion, not to explain that other people feel differently!. Your teacher is reading your essay to hear *your opinion* on the thesis statement!. If there are any arguments *against* your opinion that you can debunk, go for it, but otherwise ignore them!. You want your paper to be accurate and well-argued, but you don't have to throw in everyone else's opinion!.

I would probably structure it sort of like this:

Thesis

Role of women in pre-Islamic times
1!. Fact
-Corollary
2!. Fact
-Corollary
3!. Fact
-Corollary

Transition statement -try a phrase like, "In contrast," "However," "In modern times,"-

Women in post-Islamic times

1!. Fact
-Corollary
2!. Fact
-Corollary
3!. Fact
-Corollary

Conclusion!. To write a good conclusion, you basically just restate your thesis!. Don't introduce any new information!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
