Question: In the 1800's, what were some hardships farmers faced!?
I know about the debt, and how the transcontinental train affected them!. What are some other hardships!? See, i have to make a whole book about it and i need topics that i can do some research on!.
I already have:
-transcontinental train
-Buying on Credit(farmers got into debt while paying with credit)
-Populist Party

In the mid-west there was a distinct lack of water for irrigation!. In the early 1800's there was probably trouble with the native Americans!. "land grabbers"!. Obtaining sufficient livestock to make rearing animals a paying concern!. Finding that you had chosen the wrong type of animals to rear (sheep instead of cattle, cattle instead of steers)

Farmers then, as now, had to face the natural hazards - late spring, early winter (which affected planting and harvesting) dust storms, crop disease, too little water or too much water etc!. Www@QuestionHome@Com
