France and Britain were both on the same side!. They made up The Allies!.
If you're asking who they came to the defense of, they joined WWI after their ship Lucitania was bombed!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

This is a trick question!. France and Britain were allied, forming the allies along with some other nations, so the Americans joined on the allied side, so therefore they joined on both England and France!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You cannot choose one or the other because they were on the same side!. The USA entered the war against Germany!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

This is a trap!. All of them were in the same side !!!!!!!!!
