Freedom to worship or not worship God was a huge part!. also life was awful in Europe during those days for everyday people!. Overcrowding without any chance to become wealthy!. Here in the US anyone had a pretty good chance to become well off or rich if they played their cards right!. So it was freedom of religion plus economic freedom as well!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The US, until the revolution, was England's dumping ground for undesirables (the poor, criminals, etc!.), so being poor or being a convicted criminal were two reasons!. (It wasn't exactly immigration - England sent them here!.)

After the revolution, Australia became the dumping ground - starting with the First Fleet on May 13, 1787!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
