I've often wondered the very same thing!. At the time, it was extremely shocking because that was before the day the media was bombarding us with intimate details of serial killers and pedophiles, not to mention the younger ones that indiscriminately kill their fellow classmates!.!. These recent events have "out-horrified" Charles Manson many times over by a myriad of people!. Peronally I believe it is his physical look and the antics he exaggerates for media attention that makes him fit our mental image of how a killer should look and behave!. The real monsters i!.e!. Ted Bundy and Jeffrey Dahmer look like ordinary folks which makes them much, much scarier!. You're right, Manson never personally killed anyone!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
