Before dying he married his mistress of many years, Eva Braum, so she could die a wife as she always had wanted!. Then both committed suicide!. The Russian Army was taking control of Berlin (yes, the Russians got to Hitler first than us, but you don't hear about it too much in the Hollywood movies) and Hitler knew then end was getting closer, he knew that the bodies of Dictator Mussolini and his mistress were executed and hung upside down on meat-hooks from the roof of a gas station, then stoned by civilians from below; so Hitler did want to end up the same way, that's why he committed suicide and asked that his body were cremated (that last part didn't work very well since the soldiers did a bad job and the bodies were partially burned)!.Www@QuestionHome@Com As the Soviet army was fighting its way into Berlin, Hitler and his brand new wife Eva Braun took poison and then Hitler shot himself in his underground bunker!. The bodies were taken outside, hastily but only partially burned, and buried in a shallow grave!. The Soviets found the bodies but did not officially share the information with the west for years!. This gave rise to rumors that he had escaped to South America like many other nazis had done!.
