The 20's!? I don't think many people were!. The 20's were known as the "Roaring Twenties!" The Golden Age of America!. Everyone was happy and financially fit, we were an isolationist country and we held our own weight, why!? Because of the introduction of "Credit" to America!. You wanted a car!? Get it on credit!. A house!? Credit!. Anything you wanted!. It was a thriving dream! Until, we realized that no one was paying back credit, and banks literally went broke and out of business at the end of the decade, which brought on the Great Depression in the 1930's!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Pretty much everyone!. The extremely savvy and extremely rich were the only ones who succeeded during that time, and even then they weren't as rich as they could have been!. The problem, put simply, was that no one had any money!. It is an extremely complicated concept, but to the everyman it boiled down to a lack of jobs, a lack of money, and a lack of opportunity!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Farmers!. During World War I they saw a boom, but during the 20's they were "plagued by low prices for agricultural products, high costs for producing these goods, and heavy debt!."Www@QuestionHome@Com

My grandma's UPSTAIR'S maid had to be fired during the depress!. The downstairs maid got to stay though!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
