Famines were an ever-present threat throughout Egypt's history and pictorial and textual evidence can be found from many different time periods!.

The "famine stela" of Djoser does not include any skeletal figures, just the king facing gods at the top, followed by the inscription!. No other figures appear, except those in the text itself - see
