Question: Did christianity cause wars between people, during the Greco-Roman times!?

i'm doing an assignment for AP* world history, and I can't find anything relating to this!. Please help :)

Well considering that Christianity didn't even exist during the "Greco" part, no!. Christians were at times persecuted, at times tolerated during the Roman empire!. They didn't become a strong religion for a few hundred years after Christ's death, and I don't think that the religion can be credited with any wars during that period!. Certainly Christianity has been incredibly violant throughout much of its history, but I think it would only be fair to say it was the cause of wars from perhaps the early 8th century onwards!. There were some pretty nasty quarrels between Christians and pagans during the 5th and 6th centuries, but the religion itself didn't cause those problems!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

haha im in AP Euro too i love it so far, while we didn't talk to much about wars because of Christianity in Greco-Roman times, just from previous history i would say yes, as the Christians were heavily persecuted by the romans so maybe it causes internal strife more so than full out wars, but then again you could argue that Christians were a large part of the Roman Empire falling as it weakened by the ramapaging pissed off Christians, anyways hope this helped

Yes Christians were persecuted early on in the Roman empire!. Later after the emperor converted non-christians were persecuted!.

Later in Byzantine times (the eastern roman empire after the west fell) there were several wars between different sects of Christianity that fought over specific details and interpretations of the faith!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
