What material were sutures made of during World War I?

Question: What material were sutures made of during World War I!?

Sutures!? As in for stiching up wounds!? Well, at least two types of modern sutures are made from catgut!. So I'd imagine they were made from catgut during WWI!.

Edit: this might be interesting, just found it doing a search on WWI sutures!. It's from Johnson & Johnson, and does list a company called Hamburger Arzneimittel- und Catgut-Fabrik!. Might mean they produced catgut for suturing wounds!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I am guessing you are meaning "structures!."

Well WWI, was pretty a jump in technology!. The technolgoy spurred on by the recent revoloutions and revolutinos taknig palce!. Then a war!. For example, the Russians had to upgrade their terrible technology to fight in WWI!. the Russians lsot China to Japan in the Russo-Japan war because of poor technology!. The Tzar and Tzaress themselves dressed medievally!

The structures were some were Castles!. So you know what they are made of!.

In Australia it was shacks lol!.

However msot parts in Europe had structures mainly made out of wood, sand stones, large stones you see in castles!. These were the msot typical!.

you know in Medieval Castles you see the stones as the building blocks for the Castle!. Buildigns in WWI, mainly had these same stones or simialr to these in their buildings!.

Suture from my knowledfge is a sort of a thingy to hold a stictch togather!.

So in WWI, when the sodleirs get shot, they have to get out the bullet then stitch back the flesh right!.

In WWI, they relied on atniseptics and not so much painkillers, they jsut knocked the eprson out or drugged them!. They used antiseptics such as hydrogen soemthnig !. Sorry ican't remmeebr the full names!.

I think they used some hard stuff such as wood or metal!. This is jsut my guess tho!. But I am sure they were able to use wood or metal because they had a person drugged out and they sued a lot of antiseptics and stuff,
