I actually got into an argument with someone over that!. I asked them, okay, if Ben Franklin was a President, who was his VP!? The answer I got was, Jefferson Davis!. It's hard to argue with stupidity!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Uneducated or under-educated people think that Benjamin Franklin was a president because a slang term for money (especially U!.S!. currency) is "dead presidents"!. The bill that has mostly been associated with this term is the $100 bill, and you probably know that the face on that bill is good ol' Ben!
Although he was never a president, he is the only person featured on U!.S!. currency that was not a president, and most people think that only presidents are on American money, and the ones that think that probably couldn't name more than three of them!Www@QuestionHome@Com

I've never heard anyone say that Benjamin Franklin was ever a president!.!.!.but if that's true that some people believe that, then they apparently are too lazy to do research!. Teachers can't "make" someone learn what they don't want to learn!.
