I have a some candidates

Robert and Clara Schumann- it is a wonder how he managed to have stability in his life despite the fact he was nuts and attempted suicide a few times while she could have a long career in music, live with a mentally unstable husband, and raise seven kids in a time when it was unthinkable for a woman to have it all!.

Sir Isaac Newton- one of the great men of physics who basically invented the study itself as well as calculus who had very whacked out religious views and performed a treasure trove of freak experiments!.

Edgar Allan Poe- Remarkable that he could contribute so much in literature in his short lifetime and not receive royalties for it!. Not to mention he was nuts and underrated in his day!.

Thomas Paine- eighteenth century Socialist before there was a word and proponent of the many ideas for FDR's New Deal like Social Security and minnimum wages as well as other ideas considered radical for the time but exist in today's society!. Had interesting religious beliefs and many people got fed up with him at his death!.

Kit Carson- a real life folk hero who no one really knew when they saw him!.

Catherine the Great- the most powerful woman in history who deserves a better reputation than she has due to jealousy!.

To me, one would be Jesus Christ, and it has nothing to do with religion fo rme!. I don't care whether he is divine or not, the fact that people still talk about him, worship him thousands of years later is simply incredible!.

I really don't care about celebrities!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

My two choices of great celebs are; 1) Beau Brummel and 2) Lawrence of Aabia!.

One of the most famous 'celebs' of the early 19thC was Beau Brummel, the dandy!. He practically invented the idea of being a dandy!.

Beau Brummel was the original celeb - invented it and himself!.
