Come on, I know everyone's EXCITED to hear my question!.!.!.Or not!.

" Explain how the Enlightenment has had a long term impact on the west's belief in progress, increased secularization and belief in individualism!. "

I'm kind of confused, because!.!.!.well!. I don't really know how it impacted the west!.
For any of you who don't know!.!.!.The Enlightenment was and era mainly in Europe & North America!. It was basically people saying, "Hey, I can think for myself! Religion is a bunch of crap, science explains everything, and I'm generally a good person, who's whole Good/Bad thoughts were shaped through my environment, parent's friends, and everyone else around me!"

Well, the west IS Europe and North America!

The Enlightenment has had a direct impact on every government in Europe, North and South America- no where in those areas is there one absolute monarch (Castro is closest, but that is another story)!.

The concepts of limited government, natural rights and freedoms all spring from the Enlightenment!. The ideas of representative have been- if not defined- then refined by Enlightenment ideas!.
