These links may help some!. The first is from the National Park Service's page for Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania!. There's an easy to read description of the battle on May 5-7 1864!. This site describes all four battles in the area Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville, Wilderness, and Spotsylyvania Court House!.

The others are from Civil War Home!. These are in order the Union Order of Battle, describing the units involved, the Confederate Order of Battle, describing the units!. The last link is the Civil War Home's page on this particular battle!. There are transcriptions of the commanders' official reports!.

The stuff I was looking at didn't describe what you were looking for!. The particular weapons involved, like were the cannon rifled, smoothbore, mortars, or what!. The infantry weapon was the rifled musket, used on both sides!. Cavalry used sabres and their side arms were revolvers and varied!. The larger revolvers of the day weren't using shell casings, as bullets of today use, but often had a charge loaded in the cylinder and a percussion cap loaded at the hammer end!. The handguns with the handle underneath the barrel are of this type, the Colt 44 pistol!.

I think one of these official reports might mention the incidents in the battle, something like "our 6 pounders worked well against the defenders" or something like that!. The National Park service may have a museum site that displays the different weapons used!. Www@QuestionHome@Com
