Question: Why was the gold rush important!?
Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
The California gold rush (and the later Yukon gold rush) opened the doors to new territories!.

Previously, California was too far for most people to even consider as a place to live!. But, the lure of gold convinced them to go, and thousands did!. As they arrived, they found that California had abundant resources and amenable climate, so they encouraged others to migrate also!.

So California became a vast resource and the population grew!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

i think the gold rush was important because poor people went to California to find gold!. They heard the roads were all paved with gold but when they went there they found no gold!. The living conditions were also very poor and people had to live in tenants!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
