Patrick Henry was a planter, and a supporter of the small government model!. Henry had sent the Virginia delegation to Philadelphia with strict instructions to not draw up a new Constitution in 1787!.

Patrick Henry was also the Governor of Virginia at the time Colonel George Rogers Clark came to him with a proposal to take the forts in Illinois country, such as Kaskaskia, Cahokia, Ft!. Vincent (Vincennes IN) and Detroit!. When Hair buyer Hamilton was taken prisoner, it was to Richmond he was delivered!.
