Artist from this period in Europe did not sign their works, for the most part!.

They believed that God knew who did the work, so they did not need the sin of pride by signing their names!.

Now, in Ireland and Celtic regions, Christianity did not catch on so quickly!.

Much Celtic art is contained in scriptures written/copied in Irish monasteries, like the Book of Kells!.

Individual names are unheard of!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

At this period artists would have been few and far between!. They would not have been named!. It was the Dark Ages and there was no cultural infrastructure!. The main western art would have been carried out by monks illuminating manuscripts, but even they were not common, the art from not beginning to flourish until later centuries!. Have you goolged 'History of Art' and gone from there!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

I don't think there were any named artists from this period!. Much art was religious, produced in monasteries, like the fantastic illuminated manuscripts that still survive!. I don't know of any named artists at all!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
