Definitely!
When He was up on the cross the weight of all our sin was put on our shoulders!. That's why if you look in the old testament they have animal sacrifices and such, because otherwise send meant damnation to hell!. He payed for all our sin so we don't have to, the only catch is that you have to believe!. "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life"-John 3:16

As Jesus didn't exist, he could hardly have died, right!?

Consider the following:
- Any idea what happens if a bunch of hoodlums starts kicking market stalls down, and throw money in the crowds!?
- Romans didn't arrest troublemakers in a city on the brink of revolution by sending in a full cohort of soldiers!. If a revolt hadn't started, that would surely do it!.
- Roman governors didn't give in to demands of the crowd!. Certainly not a man like Pilate
- The Sanhedrin could not meet after dark or on a religious festival, and certainly not both at the same time!.
- The Sanhedrin did have the authority for capital punishment!. Only not to have someone crucified!. Later on in Acts they condemned Stephan to be stoned, which was the punishment for blasphemy!. So why bother to involve the Romans at all!?
- There was no habit of releasing a dangerous prisoner!. Neither the Romans nor the Jews had such a custom!.
- Being scourged was part of the punishment of crucifixion!.
- The condemned carried the crossbeam only!.
- The Romans would never pick one of the crowd to carry that crossbeam for him, and even less likely a well to do man!.
- Condemned were crucified naked!.
- The cross was just a wee bit taller than the man himself!.
- One didn't expire in a mere three hours!. It took several days at least!.
- The body was never returned to relatives, but left rotting on the cross or thrown for the dogs!. (Under guard!.)
- Roman legionarii didn't sleep while at guard duty!. Punishment was being clubbed to death - for the entire detail!.

This is just a small selection!.

Now consider something else: God and Jesus are one and the same, right!? So why did God had himself killed to atone for sins he created in the first place!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

no, he was not on the cross!. He was in a Big stake and he died slowly because when he tried to pull himself, his internal organs would stop working slowly!. He suffocated!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
