The Egyptian Pyramids were built by trial and error!. There is only one truly perfect pyramid!. The rest have huge flaws!. The Egyptians improved upon a then ancient idea of a Ziggurat, a tall temple with a huge base and smooth sides!. The Aztecs, ( I believe you mean Mayan but they both their cultures were so a like and one succeeded the other it's hard to tell where one culture began and one ended!.) built their pyramids as temples!. I do not call them pyramids for this reason!. They are more like Ziggurats!. You could say that this is a link but the Mayan (Aztecs) were missing an even more important piece of technology, the arch!. An arch is a HUGE piece of technology!. The Romans built huge temples, aquaducts, and underground cities with them!. They even built Notre Dame using arches!. The buiders of the Ziggurats had this technology and the Maya (Aztecs) didn't!. They Central American peoples had huge tunnel systems dug underneith these pyramids so the priests could communicate with the underworld!. The arch was never used in these tunnels!. The arch is so important that nothing on earth was taller than the Egyptian pyramids until the French built the Eiffel Tower which has arches at its base!.Www@QuestionHome@Com Continental drift!. It moved on to how humans crossed the bering strait and came to america!. then, we discussed how it seemed the aztecs seemed so much more advanced than the native Americans even though the Native Americans had about 500 years more!.
