Question: Who is George Washington!?

Hi!. I am from Ohio, in 11th grade, but I am not very good with History!. I got a report to do on George Washington and my teacher told me it should be easy!. I asked her who he is and she said it was very sad I do not know!. She didn't tell me who he was!. What did he do!? Was he like important or something!?
