!.Ho chi was the communist leader of the resistance against France!.When the french were defeated Ho Chi became president!.lncidentally there was never a Nth & Sth Veitnam,it was always one country!.Until the USA under the auspices of the UN decided to oust Ho Chi!.That finished up a disaster fo the UN!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

He basically took Vietnam over from the French!.!.!.To say he was a President is kind of wrong!.!.!.He was a Guerilla Leader who used force to obtain independence from French colonialist who wanted to exploit the land and people!.!.!.and felt they were entitled to Vietnam after WWII!.!.!.Interesting enough!.!.!.Uncle HO!.!.!.had worked closely with the US OSS (the Grandfather of the CIA) in fighting the Japanese!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I dont know how he got into power but he was a cook when growing up and crewed on many ships travelling the world and he found that communism would be the best system for his government!.
