Antietam - The Bloodiest War Fought!. (Standstill)

Gettysburg - This guaranteed Lincoln's re-election, also kept the British out of the War!. The South was winning everything they needed a victory in Northern soil, in order to end the war or get foreign aide!. (Northern Victory)

First Battle of Manassas (First Battle of Bull Run) - Showed that this War was not going to be a walk in the park!. The Northerners were overly confident that this war would be over soon and Northern women drank tea outside when the battle was taking place to show they thought the war would finish quickly!. This was not the case as the South decisively won this battle!. (Southern Victory)

Vicksburgh - Was huge too because Sherman's March to the Sea succeeded in cutting off Southern materials from being trnsported from the Atlantic to Mississippi!. It also destroyed major economical cities, like Atlana, Mobile, Charleston, Savannah, Vicksburgh, etc!.

Battle of Franklin - Was a very bloody battle in TennesseeWww@QuestionHome@Com

Fort Sumter was the first battle in the war!. Antietam brought about the largest loss of lives on American Soil!. The Siege of Vicksburg, which combined with the near simultaneous Battle of Gettysburg, made the turning point of the war!. Both of the Battles of Bull Run (I'm northern so I prefer Bull Run) were backhands to the North!. Battle of Hampton Roads was the first time two iron armored ships went head to head!. To say that any 3 battles are important above all else, that's hard!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Antietam is definitely one of the three!.

Probably Vicksburg, because it shut the Mississippi River off from the Confederacy!.
